Rarotonga Island Vibes

The group arrives in Rarotonga and settles into island time straight away, checking into the accommodation and taking the afternoon to relax, breathe in the warm tropical air, and enjoy their first taste of Cook Islands hospitality. Once everyone’s refreshed, the students head down to the lagoon for an easy snorkel in the crystal‑clear water, spotting colourful fish and getting their first glimpse of the island’s incredible marine life. The day winds down with some delicious local food and a calm evening to ease into the rhythm of island life.

The second day is all about adventure on the water as the group boards the famous Tamas Lagoon Cruise, gliding across the turquoise Muri Lagoon with music, storytelling, and plenty of laughs along the way. Students enjoy snorkelling stops, island demonstrations, and a fresh island‑style lunch served right on the water. It’s a full day of fun, culture, and sunshine, leaving everyone salty‑haired, smiling, and fully immersed in the spirit of Rarotonga.

The morning begins with one of Rarotonga’s most unforgettable experiences — swimming with the turtles. Guided by local experts, students slip into the water to watch these gentle giants glide effortlessly through the lagoon, a peaceful and awe‑inspiring encounter. After the turtle swim, there’s more time for snorkelling and exploring the reef, giving everyone a chance to soak up the underwater world at their own pace. The afternoon is relaxed and sun‑soaked, perfect for enjoying the island before dinner.

The final day takes the group inland for a rugged 4x4 off‑road tour, bouncing through Rarotonga’s lush interior and discovering hidden valleys, mountain views, and local legends along the way. It’s a fun, energetic way to see a completely different side of the island before wrapping up the tour. After the adventure, the group has time to relax, pack up, and enjoy a final island meal before preparing for the journey back to Auckland.
